BENCHMARK FOR EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT SAFETY

NATIONAL BENCHMARKING PROGRAM FOR CRITICAL ACCESS, SMALL & RURAL HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

Approximately 30% of all hospitals in the US are considered to be rural health providers. Our one-of-a-kind Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety (BFEPS™) Program for Critical Access, Small & Rural clients has been specifically designed with these providers in mind.

It starts with Clarity's Healthcare SafetyZone® incident reporting and risk-quality-safety management system, allowing program members to capture incident report data in a common template for benchmarking with other participating facilities.

Having enrolled more than 120 member-providers over the past few years, our national benchmarking program meets the following needs commonly identified by rural healthcare providers:

  • Includes a state-of-the-art and highly affordable electronic incident reporting and patient safety management solution

  • Establishes a relationship with other rural providers on a state-by-state basis

  • Provides benchmarking of data against all peers participating in the program, giving you a much bigger picture of patient safety trends, crucial to anticipating and implementing needed interventions

The BFEPS™ Critical Access, Small & Rural Program includes the following components:

HEALTHCARE SAFETYZONE® COMMON REPORT TEMPLATES

Participants in the BFEPS™ Program use standardized report templates that have been built by other rural facilities and are proven to be highly relevant and easy-to-use. With these templates, clients collect information necessary for in-depth analysis and benchmarking.

Program participants collect information from a variety of report templates, including:
Falls, Medication Errors, Infection Control, HIPAA/Security, Employee Events, Patient Feedback & Complaints.

BFEPS™ QUARTERLY COMPARITIVE REPORTS

On a quarterly basis, Clarity Group provides a detailed Quarterly Comparison Report (QCR) that benchmarks your facility's data with the other BFEPS program participants. The QCRs provide an in-depth look at the data that is being collected, going far beyond simple reporting of total events collected. The QCRs show appropriate trending of data which leads to actionable follow up and patient safety initiatives. The data is presented in a completely desensitized manner against not only the state in which you reside, but also all participating facilities nationwide.

BFEPS™ QUARTERLY PARTICIPANT WEBINAR

Clarity Group hosts quarterly webinars to discuss the trends shown in the data. Participants come together with all of their program peers, and with Clarity's guidance, review data, discuss trends and patterns, and share patient safety best practices.

"We've been able to utilize Clarity's technology to eliminate paper from our organizations, increase our overall reporting, and foster shared learning and communication among our facilities. The BFEPS™ Program is a great way to aid in our focus on improving patient safety in small & rural hospitals."
