The National Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety™ Program

The National Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety™ (BFEPS) Program is a first-of-its-kind program for critical access, small and rural healthcare facilities. Along with our current small and rural clients, we created the program to provide a resource that supports these organizations in their patient safety efforts. At Clarity, we understand that the small and rural community faces time and resource constraints that can impact making positive changes in patient safety and it needs a program that will help break down these barriers.

The program allows the organizations to benchmark their quality and patient safety data alongside other facilities in their state and in the nation, in addition to providing them with a forum to come together and work on interventions to reduce potential harm at their facilities. Participants have the opportunity to benchmark data in the important areas of falls, medication and infection on a national level and additional events on a state level. In the program, participants use the Healthcare SafetyZone® Portal, Clarity's  web-based patient safety event management system, to collect the data within their organizations and then share it with their peers. The Portal helps the management of patient safety at each organization as it ensures a common data collection format for the benchmarking process and features very robust follow-up and analysis tools.

The Healthcare SafetyZone® Portal (Portal) is a cloud-based software solution for collecting, tracking and analyzing patient safety and quality events. Our customizable healthcare software is tailored to fit your organization's needs, and captures events across the healthcare system, including hospitals, physician offices and outpatient areas. Data captured in the event reporting process includes traditional occurrence or incident reports, patient complaints, security events, employee health events and much more.
