We at Clarity are very proud and honored to be recognized as a supporter of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine's (SIDM) "Diagnostic Error Awareness Campaign." As a professional healthcare liability and patient safety company, first and foremost, we believe in the power of information and education in mitigating any and all circumstances which can lead to adverse events and errors across all healthcare organizations.

From SIDM's website, "In the fall of 2015, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) will publish a landmark report on diagnostic error in healthcare, addressing the fact that diagnostic error is the leading cause of medical malpractice claims in the US and causes an estimated 40,000-80,000 deaths annually. One in every ten diagnoses is wrong and one in every twenty patients will experience a diagnostic error this year. This new IOM report will also offer recommendations to reduce diagnostic errors such as misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis, delayed diagnosis."

"To gain the full advantage of this upcoming report, The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine is raising funds to conduct a national outreach campaign to bring attention to the report and increase awareness about this issue. We will also establish a coalition of healthcare organizations that share our vision that diagnosis should be accurate, timely, efficient, and safe."
